If you're still experiencing pain after receiving a corticosteroid injection, it's possible that you were misdiagnosed. Relying too heavily on imaging results can often lead to this. For example, you may have received an epidural injection for low back pain, but the actual cause of your pain was not properly identified. This could be due to an injury to the SI joint, which is not always visible on an MRI. If you're still in pain after the injection, it's possible that the steroid was injected in the wrong location. To accurately identify the cause of your pain, a more thorough physical exam and diagnostic workup may be necessary.
