This project beat me up. The Black Birch was unbelievably dense and hard. I couldn't run my Gouge inside while hollowing it, had to go Carbide. It took a good portion of the day just to hollow it, much unrecorded workings.
I am happy with the result. It made a great Plant holder.
I only rubbed in some Block Oil and treated the cracks with the same.
I have one more slab of this Birch left for a future Turn, it was one Knarly Log that I cut in half
