If you are investing for the dividend income then does stock price matter?

In this video, I’ll talk about the only times that stock price matters when you are investing for the dividends. Which isn’t that often if we are being honest. It’s not like if you are using other investing methods where the current price is more important because dividends will be paid whether the market is up or down.

It’s why I like dividend investing over other methods because you’re not relying so much on what the current market is doing, you’ll get paid regardless.

The main time that stock price is really important is when you’re buying and anytime you choose to sell.

If you have a different investing strategy, such as growth or whatever other method you want, then stock price is going to be more important. And I’m not going to argue which investing methods are better, because I think there are pros and cons to many different investing styles. Growth investing is good. Value investing is good. And dividend investing is good. But they are different strategies.

So as a dividend investor, it’s cash flow that you’re focusing on. Capital growth is a secondary benefit.
