Today’s challenge will help you release stuck physical tension and energetic congestion. We're like a balloon blowing up all day with pressure from stressors, worry, and fear. We don’t want our (figurative) balloons to explode, so it's important to RELEASE the pressure!!!

You’re going to gently shake your body to move emotional energy and release vocal and pelvic tension with sound.

CONNECTIONS:

The throat and root are connected anatomically, by fascia.

The vocal and pelvic areas are also energetically connected by the actions they take and the roles they play. Think about it: both areas bring things in, and they also let things out!
● Throat: takes in air (oxygen), food, and water. It releases vocal expression and carbon dioxide.
● Root: receives sexually, and it retains poop and pee to remain continent. It releases poop and pee when you're ready to eliminate, and it births babies.

Both the throat and the root tighten and close when we're fearful, and both araes BIRTH things (i.e. babies, expressions, ideas). Both are full of creative potential, and both are VULNERABLE places!

The throat and the root are two ends of the same general "pipe."

Today's challenge is all about experimenting and playing with movement, breath, and sound to "clear the channel" from the throat to the root. I encourage you to be in a private room that feels like a SAFE SPACE to be yourself and express!!! Things to keep in mind:
● sound how you feel
● work with "what is" without any story attached to it
● give yourself full permission to be all of you, to feel all of it, and to emote all of it

If you find that this stirs up any difficult or confronting emotions, then please seek the care of a mental health professional in your area. A lot can come up when you do this type of somatic embodiment work, and it's important to know when you need to ask for help!
