Hi guys! With Thanksgiving coming up I thought I would make a little DIY for anyone looking for fun and easy dessert ideas. Here's a kid-friendly craft that is stress free for the holidays and a pumpkin pie/cake recipe that is just as easy. Hope you enjoy!

Supplies for Craft Turkeys:

Orange or Brown Baking Cups
(I got mine last year at JoAnn, but I think these are similar)
https://www.wilton.com/colorcup-orang...
Crafting Maple Leaves - found at Dollar Tree
Felt - yellow and red
Googly Eyes
Hot Glue (white glue to make more kid friendly)
Scissors

Recipe for Pumpkin Pie/Cake:
3 eggs
1 can (29 oz.) pumpkin
1 can (12 fl oz.) evaporated milk
3/4 cups sugar
1 Tbsp. cinnamon
1 box of yellow cake mix
1 cup of chopped nuts (pecans)
1 cup melted unsalted butter

Preheat oven to 350°F. In large mixing bowl, mix eggs, pumpkin, evaporated milk, sugar and cinnamon. Line 13 x 9" pan with wax paper and pour pumpkin into pan. Sift dry cake mix evenly over the top. Sprinkle nuts and pat gently into cake mix. Drizzle melted butter evenly over cake. Bake for 50-60 minutes. Turn out of pan, remove wax paper and cool. Once cool refrigerate until cold (or overnight). Cut into squares (clean up edges first if desired)

Recipe for Frosting:
1 (8 oz.) package of cream cheese
1/2 cup powdered sugar
3/4 cup cool whip
(Large Star Tip - Wilton)

Cream softened cream cheese and sugar, then fold in cool whip. Pipe or frost cake.

(Note - in the past we've omitted frosting and used whipped cream right before serving for a lighter taste!)

This recipe has been in the family my whole life, but a similar recipe can be found here!
