The Oklahoma Onion Burger has been all over YouTube recently, which made me realize that it was time to put MY SmokeShow Onion Burger to the test against it! In this video I make two different onion smash burgers and put them to the test! Come see which one wins!

Now for this video its super simple... probably one of the simplest cooking videos that I've done in a while. I got my motivation from seeing Chuds BBQ and Smokin' Joes Pit BBQ do their onion burger videos...

I used some Certified Piedmontese grass fed ground beef ( https://bit.ly/44eml2c ) for both of these burgers and 1 whole onion.

For my SmokeShow Onion Smash Burger, we use 1/2 sweet onion per pound of ground beef. Dice the onion up fairly fine and saute on your griddle. Today I am using my Camp Chef Sidekick griddle for the entire cook. I use a couple tablespoons of unsalted butter to help with the saute. Give it a little time, then hit it with a few dashes of my secret ingredient.... Soy Sauce. Once the onions are nice and brown and translucent, mix them in well with the ground beef.

**Now for all of my smash burgers, I season them on the griddle with salt, ground pepper, and garlic powder... you will not see this in the video because I was unaware that my camera died.**

Now for the Oklahoma Onion Smash Burger, its very simple process. Slice onion thin, get them cooking on the griddle in a pile, then smash a burger right over the top.

I like to finish mine with a nice piece of American Cheese, then place it on a toasted Brioche bun..... oh man!

Now you can see... these onion smash burgers look incredible, but let me tell you they taste even better!
