February seems to be a great month for Mascot horror games. We just archived the game Muzy and today we add the newly released Toytopia to the archives. The developer has stated that games like Poppy Playtime and Garten of Banban were direct inspirations to this game and you can definitely sense that with the color scheme and types of puzzles.
We find ourselves in an indoor amusement park and have to partake in various minigames in order to progress while avoiding various animatronics and other monsters. There will be jumping puzzles, chase sequences and codebreaking.
The game itself does nothing really new, but if you enjoy these types of mascot horror games then this one is a treat as well. I do wish the monsters and animatronics felt a bit more unique. The same publisher also published Playtown and that game has a bigger focus on dinosaur animatronics, but Toytopia's monsters aren't that memorable yet. There is a hint of magic or a circus theme here, so maybe in future updates we can see the enemies revolve more around themes of a jolly circus.
