If you were asked what some preventable causes of death are, what would you say?
Don't smoke? Yes
Lower blood pressure? Definitely
Lessen trans fats? Yup, that's a good one.
Increase your omega 3 fatty acids? It probably wouldn't be on your top 10 list but it should be!

A 2009 study discovered that a low omega 3 fatty acid index is as bad for your longevity as smoking! Yes, no exaggeration.

The protective response that omega 3s have on your heart health are profound. Enough to truly extend your life expectancy by at least 6 years.

You can test your omega 3 index for about $50, so it's not an expensive test. Your result will come as a percentage - 4% or less is low, while 8% or more is a good level. The Japanese who regularly eat fatty fish tend to score about 10 to 11% and we do find that they outlive the typical American. The test profiles your levels over the past 120 days, so if you are starting to supplement, do so for about 4 months before you test for accuracy. Or if you already enjoy fatty fish, test now to see your baseline.

Fatty fish is a great source of omega 3s, but you can also supplement, about 2 grams per day.

Let me know your thoughts and what you notice augmenting your omega 3 levels.
