The espresso martini has been around for a while and has a lot of variations. This is the way I make it.
Espresso Martini Recipe
- 1oz simple syrup
- 1oz coffee liquor
- 2oz espresso (1oz if you don't want it as strong)
- 2oz vodka
1. Add your ingredients to a cocktail shaker and do a dry shake. Be careful with this part, don't shake it too hard. You run the risk of the hot espresso making your shaker explode.
2. Add ice to your shaker and shake it aggressively.
3. Strain over a chilled cocktail glass.
4. Garnish with 3 coffee beans and enjoy :)
Simple Syrup Recipe:
- 1c Sugar
- 1c Water
1. Add your ingredients to a pot and bring to a boil, whisking until all the sugar dissolves.
2. Allow the syrup to cool and pour it into a mason jar.
3. You can store it in the fridge for 2-3 weeks.
*pro tip: this is the base of most syrup recipes. you can add 1tbsp of vanilla to make an easy vanilla syrup.
