Ingredients
1lb potatoes (yukon gold or russet work)
1 egg
1 cup flour (plus more if needed)
Salt to taste

4 tablespoons butter
1 onion
1 carrot
1 bay leaf
1 pound Italian sausage with casings removed
1 28-ounce can Italian plum tomatoes, pureed
1 cup broth (vegetable, chicken, or beef) or water
salt and pepper to taste
5 sprigs fresh marjoram
