So which ETFs pay the highest dividends within Australia, and which Exchange Traded Fund has the highest dividend yield overall?

In this video, I’ll look at the dividend ETFs from the major fund managers to see not only how much the current yield is but also how much they’ve paid in the past.

I’ll also show how much you would have earned in dividends if you had invested ten thousand dollars five years ago.

I will also look at the capital growth of these funds so that you can concentrate on those ETFs that didn’t decrease in price.

ETFs are an easy low-cost cost and convenient way to get started in dividend investing. You’ll get the passive income from the dividends, the diversification of holding a bunch of different companies at once, and you’ll also benefit from the increase in value of the assets in the fund over time.

Most of the dividend ETFs in Australia will pay their dividends (called distributions) out to investors four times a year and include any franking credits. Some pay monthly too.

The ETF with the highest dividend yield overall was not the one that paid the highest in dividends over the past five years, nor was it the one that increased much with capital growth. The most consistent of the ETFs were the more popular general index ETFs which were consistent with both income and price growth.
