In this video I will guide you through the Soothing Rhythm Breathing exercise. This exercise was developed by Paul Gilbert the founder of Compassion Focused Therapy (CFT).

The way we breathe has a significant impact upon our nervous system, which in turn impacts our feelings, behaviour and the way we think. By practicing a soothing breathing rhythm we can change our physiology and help activate our soothing system. This can dampen down our threat system and help stabilise our emotions and thoughts.
