La Liga has established itself as one of the main football leagues in the world, known for its technical and offensive style of play, as well as featuring some of the best players in history, such as Alfredo Di Stéfano, Johan Cruyff, Diego Maradona and Lionel Messi.
The main football league in Spain has been played since 1929, and in its first edition it featured 10 teams. Over its rich history, the league has expanded to 20 teams and seen the rise of some of the biggest clubs in the world, such as Real Madrid, Barcelona and Atlético de Madrid.
