Checking another one off the bucket list, my friend Merry and I did the South Side Grand Canyon Rim to Rim hike back in May. Unfortunately, we ended up with record high temps over 105 degrees at the bottom of the canyon on the day we hiked!! Although we had trained for the distance and endurance, there was no way to train for the heat... BUT we survived!!

Note, the National Park Service highly recommends that you DO NOT try to do this hike in one day. But if you want to "know before you go", this video will give you a good overview.
