Albert Schuster was born on 13 February 1912 in Plauen, then part of the German Empire.
Following World War I, which ended on 11 November 1918, a number of right-wing extremist political groups emerged in Germany. One of them was the Nazi Party which rose to power due to the social and political circumstances that characterized the interwar period in Germany.
After securing the neutrality of the Soviet Union through the August 1939 German-Soviet nonaggression Pact, Germany started World War II by invading Poland on September 1, 1939. Britain and France responded by declaring war on Germany on September 3. Warsaw officially surrendered to the Germans on the 28th of September 1939. In accordance with the secret protocol to their non-aggression pact, Germany and the Soviet Union partitioned Poland on the 29th of September and the last resistance of Polish units ended on the 6th of October.
