Over 25 years since the original Metroid: Return of Samus was realeased on the Nintendo Game Boy, and during a drought of (decent) Metroid for its fanbase, a surprise remake was announced at the 2017 E3 Treehouse Event, bringing Samus Aran into the eighth generation of video games with Metroid: Samus Returns, on the 3DS.

Was it a great remake? Or was it yet another disappointment for the fanbase on par with Federation Force, or heaven forbid, Luker's upload schedule?
