*Recorded live at the Taper Auditorium located inside of the Central Library (630 W 5th St) on 3/2/24 as part of the inaugural Plant Day.

Learn what a habitat garden is and why we should care. During this talk, you will learn what you will need to create a habitat garden, as well as find out about resources for people who want to learn more.

Jeanette Marantos is a reporter for the LA Times who focuses on plants, gardening, and Southern California’s changing landscapes and writes the monthly LA Times Plants newsletter. She spent more than 25 years in Central Washington as a daily reporter, columnist, freelancer, journalism teacher, and mom before returning to the land of eucalyptus and sage in 2013. She now lives in Ventura, trying to transform her yard into an oasis of native plants, fruit trees, and veggies.

This program was made possible with the generous support of the National Endowment for the Humanities and The Library Foundation of Los Angeles.
