In this episode I provide the history of the Saab 900, which was Saab's most popular car during the 1980's and 90's. But it wasn't popular enough for Saab to continue losing money, leading to GM taking over 50% ownership in 1989, and then complete ownership in 2000, resulting in the 1994 900 to be based on an existing GM platform. Renamed the Saab 9-3 in 1998, it became a rebadged version of several other GM cars, as were all other Saab cars, leading to GM shutting them down by 2012. They came back briefly as an electric car as part of National Electric Vehicle Sweden, but were gone by 2014, making the 9-3 the last car to have the Saab name.
