Sometimes you have to give less good news to a customer. We can’t always comply with what the customer wants.
The sandwich or hot dog technique is a handy tool to give bad news or bring a difficult message. It’s very simple: you start with positive news, followed by less good news, and then say something positive again. This method can help you to get a less pleasant message across in an acceptable way.

You put the recipient of the message in a positive mood by starting with a neutral or positive message. A person in a positive mood is more open to your message and feels threatened or attacked less easily. You then give the less good or bad news. And you end with a positive message.
