In today's video, this Honda boy jumps behind the wheel of a Hyundai Veloster N! This car single handedly changed the way I view the new Hyundai N Models. So I bring you along for a first impression review of a subscribers Performance Pack Veloster N 6 Speed! Exhaust Pops and Smiles included.

Like many of you, I have a hard time looking past a "badge" on a car for me to take it seriously. Hyundai was never my tuner car brand of choice, and KDM doesn't have the ring that JDM does. With that said, Hyundai has made a fan out of me with the new Veloster, Kona, and Elantra "N" model cars. Tony offered to let me review his Veloster N and I HAD to see if these were as fun as people claimed them to be. Needless to say, this car may have been the most "out of the box" fun I've had in FWD turbo vehicle. Now I say that still not knowing what a FK8 Civic Type R feels like, but I imagine it's a close tier.

We start the video with my general predictions on the car and what I was somewhat expecting. From there, Tony gives us a walkaround of the car showing some of the odd features, subtle modifications, and interior. I will say, it looks better in person than on video and you really have to sit in it to appreciate it. It's a simple car with much of the emphasis on the driving experience, and I love that. After that, we take the Veloster N for a spirited backroad drive that unlocked my new found love for these cars.

Don't let people tell you these things aren't quick, because they are. For a stock car, this already feels like a well modified example of something from maybe 10 years ago. The sound is incredible, the pops, gurgles, induction sound, etc. will ALWAYS bring a smile to your face. The suspension felt planted and very confidence inspiring for anything with a turn. I loved it, and honestly didn't want to stop driving it. In Short: Embrace the badge, drive one, appreciate what Hyundai is doing.
