The Honda Civic Type R and Golf R are the closest competitors now that the Focus RS is gone in America. While there are rear-wheel-drive options in this price range, like the Miata, BRZ and Mustang, the Veloster is supposed to be that attainable daily driver that is accessible to anyone.
