We interview six new employees to the USDA Forest Service family at our newly sculpted National New Employee Orientation event held in the Pacific Southwest Region at the Wildland Fire Training and Conference Center in McClellan, California, in December 2023. More than 160 new employees gathered for four days to receive orientation on the agency’s mission, values, future vision, benefits, and general guidance on how to launch into a successful career. Employees, who were hired days to less than two years ago, had a chance to network with experienced national and regional leadership, including a visit from Randy Moore, the chief of the Forest Service.

Special credit (beyond how was mentioned at the end of the video) goes to: Valerie Gallup, Regional Volunteer Coordinator Specialist Zheer Saeed, ORWD Program Specialist Donna Johnson, ORWD Program Support Specialist Jacqueline Cornwell, Shasta-Trinity National Forest Administrative Officer Sachary Pineda, ORWD Resource Assistant Justin Haug, New Employee Experience Team Onboarding Liaison Akin O. Akindele, Regional Mentoring Program Manager
