URBAN AREA EARTH DAY CELEBRATION On Earth Day, and the Forest Service mission to conserve the nation’s forests, especially the conservation of mature and old-growth forests, is in the news. Given this focus and the significance of the day, I want to share my perspective on President Biden’s Executive Order, “Strengthening the Nation’s Forests, Communities, and Local Economies.” The executive order is about fostering forest resilience in an era of rapidly changing climate.
