So, I am a massive massive fan of “Avatar: The Last Airbender.” It is without question my favorite television series ever made. The characters, the animation, the music, the world, the fight choreography, the themes and way it addressed serious concepts of war and death for a kid’s show. I have such a deep connection to this series and have always wanted to talk about it on this channel.

Aside from the comics, novels, and that new Netflix live action show, the original creators of the series — Bryan Konietzko and Michael Dante DiMartino — have announced that they’ve created “Avatar Studios” and are working on a handful of projects and movies following the original “gaang” like a movie with them as adults and a solo Zuko movie, as well as a new series about the next Avatar after Korra. I think following the characters of Aang, Korra, and even Kyoshi and Yang-Chen in the novels has allowed the world to be fleshed out to a whole new level.

And so with a new series following a new Earthbending Avatar, set after the events of Korra, there’s so much that they can do with it and so many directions they can go. I think that the original series was so beloved for so many reasons, and the goal of this show should be to try and recapture that spirit for a new era.

So here’s my pitch for “The Next Avatar.”
