Putting in data in Excel can be a slow process and errors can be made. AutoComplete and dropdown list are two features currently available in Excel. AutoComplete happens when you start typing in an item you have used previously in a column. Drop-down lists are created with Data Validation and ensure only the correct items that belong in a column are entered. For example, a department column shouldn't show the Accounting department as "Accounting" and later as "Acct". Rolling out for Microsoft 365 users is AutoComplete and Drop-down list combined. This is a great time-saving feature. What is especially nice is the feature can match text from anywhere in the list. For example, if you have a list of 300 cars and you start typing Tahoe, Excel will pick up that it is in the drop-down list as Chevrolet Tahoe. It can pick up from the start, middle, or end of the list.
