Hunting for moose is part of our lives here in Alaska. As a child my family would gather each fall and spend a week processing moose and caribou meat for the winter. Not much has changed in the past 55 years. This year I had the privilege of taking my granddaughter on her first hunt. She kept her dad and I in chuckles the whole time.

Our tent is the Arctic Oven Igloo with a wood-burning stove made by Knico Manufacturing. We kept the fire burning all night long. It does not get much better.

This was a truly remote hunt, at least a hundred miles from the nearest road. It is good to know places like this still exist in the world today.
