Kyriakos Chondrogiannis (ETH Zurich), Antonis Mantakas (NTUA) and Moris Kalderon (NTUA) experimentally studied the K-Damper concept, which has been developed by colleagues in NTUA for vibration mitigation.

The experiment took place as part of a secondment stay in the context of the European ITN project INSPIRE:

A 3-storey scaled frame was built and subjected to base excitation, where the proposed state-of-the-art mechanism was installed at the base of the structure. The MadSim (Multi-Axial Dynamic Simulation) Table, operated by the Chair of Structural mechanics & Monitoring at ETH Zurich, was deployed for the tests.
