Private 1st Class Arthur Jackson served with the Marine Corps during World War II. On the South Pacific island of Peleliu, Private Jackson launched a single man assault that took out 50 enemy men and resulted in a successful outcome of the operation. Jackson received the Congressional Medal of Honor to commemorate his service.
