1st Lieutenant Robert Nett served with the Army National Guard during World War II. During an operation on the island of Leyte in the Phillipines in 1944, Nett was shot twice -- once in the neck and once in his right lung. Nett fought through these serious injuries to help lead his unit to a victory. For his service, Robert Nett received the Congressional Medal of Honor.
