Unsigned trailhead is located at the depression in the driveway coming into Heart Bar campground from CA-38.

This is a relatively flat loop hike around the base of the campground bluff. This is also a house trail so you see house droppings along the way. While mostly flat, you are at 7000 ft elevation so the hike takes a little bit of getting used to especially when you just arrived from the low lands.

The hike is somewhat shaded until you get to the open meadow on the opposite side of the loop.

You do have to cross the Santa Ana River, but it was just a trickle to straddle over while I was there. Not sure if that changes in wetter seasons.

This is a good warm up hike before heading to other ones with more elevation changes.
