The Book of Jubilees, sometimes called Lesser Genesis, is an ancient Jewish religious work of 50 chapters, considered canonical by the Ethiopian Orthodox Church as well as Beta Israel (Ethiopian Jews), where it is known as the "Book of Division". The Ancient Manuscripts Fragments of fifteen copies of the Book of Jubilees have been discovered in five Qumran caves. Qumran copies are at least as old as the first century B.C. The Qumran sect called this book the “Book of the Divisions of the Times According to the Jubilees and Their Weeks”. A number of sectarian groups in the Second Temple period advocated using such a calendar.
