this project was inspired by an experience I had in spring 2023, where I was intimately groomed and harassed by a 56 year old man that had begun to work with me - there was a lot of resounding angst and anger that I could only express privately due to me frequently fearing for my safety - all of which eventually inspired the words that I wrote for this (which then inspired the storyboard and concept, etc.)

'aspirations' is very much satirical in the sense that our dominant culture sees and often dismisses behaviors like grooming, coercion, assault, abuse, (etc.) and instead, posits ANY behavior from men as "positive attention" - something to vie for, something to be appreciative of : ) something to aspire to...
