Hello! My name is Alvin Cobb, Jr. and I need your help releasing my debut album.

I’m an artist currently based in Chicago. I play drums, write music, develop dance works, and take photos.

This project will showcase original compositions of mine that are inspired by a selection of diary entries I’ve been writing to myself since I was 18 years old. With the help of a few special guests, this project will primarily feature my band, the Alvin Cobb, Jr. Trio, consisting of bassist and vocalist Katie Ernst and pianist Julius Tucker. Since forming in late 2020, we have held a residency at Chicago’s Andy’s Jazz Club, toured an original live film score, helped raise money for local grassroots organizations through virtual concerts, and were recently nominated (and placed 3rd) in the 2022 Chicago Reader, “Best of Chicago” Poll for Best Jazz Ensemble. The only thing left is to finally release music of our own.

That music is written and will be recorded later this summer. We just need your help making sure that music is able to be shared with the world.
