"Late Night Drive" is a song that is a battle between sorrow and gratitude. A few months after moving from metro-Atlanta to Chicago in 2013, I was in an unfortunate hit-and-run car accident on my way to a concert. This song is a product of the difficult rehabilitation process that would follow. Although I have some lingering physical reminders, I am forever grateful to still be able to play music. I formed this trio with Julius and Katie in 2020, while producing virtual concerts in my apartment to make up for lost work during the height of the pandemic. These concerts eventually evolved into a way to help raise money for BIPOC-led grassroots organizations doing work on the South and West sides of Chicago.
