In this short video clip from around 2012 I'm using a pickup to pull a seized six cylinder engine up and out of an Old 1955 Dodge 2-ton Dually Truck with a Log Chain and 2x6. The chain is nailed to the top of the 2x6 to prevent the board from slipping.
This video was made for fun to show one way to pull a seven hundred pound engine up over the front cross-member without an engine hoist. The leverage of the plank under the chain lifts the engine up while the chain and the tug vehicle pull the engine forward. The Dodge straight six spitfire engine had been full of water, was rusted inside beyond repair and was being pulled for scrap.
