In today's video we take a look at a 2010 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 with a 5.3l V8 engine. The customer complaint is that the engine is making a really loud tapping and popping noise. This truck does come equipped with General Motors AFM or Active Fuel Managment system, which is notorious for having problems and lifters with a high failure rate. There is even a class action lawsuit against GM for this design. After tearing down the engine we find that we have a locked up AFM roller lifter and the camshaft has been severely damaged. The decision was made to install an AFM DOD delete kit to insure that this problem never happens again. Follow along as I take all the steps necessary to install this kit and get this truck back up and running!
