I recently decided to go and find the highest dividends on the Australian Stock Exchange. The only criteria I was looking at for this experiment was just to sort all the companies listed on the ASX by dividend yield and then go and see just what types of companies pay these really high dividend yields.

While I'm not recommending any of these companies or ETFs JUST because they have high dividend yields, I mostly just wanted to see what they were.

So I looked at the ten highest dividend yields and examined why the yields might look so high and whether they are sustainable for a dividend investor. I also looked at the past five years of price growth to see how stable the companies were.

So for fun and entertainment only, here are the 10 highest dividend yields on the ASX. Enjoy and happy investing.
