The Brazhnyk family moved to the Kyiv region from the village of Torske, Donetsk region. On the morning of October 19, 2023, the Security Service of Ukraine visited the new residence of Halyna Brazhnyk and her parents with a search warrant. The reason for these searches was several posts by a woman on Facebook. There was nothing pro-Russian in Halyna Brazhnyk's posts – on the contrary, she talked about the collaborative activities of her neighbor from the village of Torske, Donetsk region – Andriy Shepotko. The SBU considered this "slander" and opened criminal proceedings. hromadske carefully studied the case against Ms. Brazhnyk, found witnesses and recorded their stories. The conclusion is disappointing – it is a blatant case of using an official position in personal interests.
