Well... this is historical.

Apparently, the revolution was boiling on the other side of the screen. My heart is warm. ❤

Now ArtStation needs to consider different actions, no room for equidistance:

-Considering if AI has space on this platform, which name is ARTstation.
-If so, have a completely different category (I disagree, but hey, open to debate).
-Shuffle metatags, adding an automatic watermark or dynamic noises to avoid future mass scrapping data without consent.
-Removing assets from their Marketplace, as it is happening right now, that contain AI images and making a profit from it.
-Make a statement understanding its take on AI.

Also:

AI won't go anywhere, well... our voices neither.
I see some anxiety in students, new artists joining the industry, art lovers, and people that are somehow losing their motivation or worried about showing their works, craft and art out there.

You are not alone. Don't let anyone tell you that all this is inevitable and you have to embrace it in the name of "progress". Many progress summoners can't see that progress has more than one axis, progress has to be paired, and it is a complex matrix where humanity matters.

Art is the real pillar of progress and our culture. Most of the great innovations come from the imagination, abstraction and creativity of our species, years, decades and sometimes centuries before technology materializes them.

Many stories, poems and paintings were pointing to the stars before we even built our first rocket.

You, Artists, are the engine that can drive technology, and not the other way around as many are trying to redefine. We all feel this is not just art theft, but identity theft. We all feel that many will try to ridiculize our fight with repetitive fallacies about adaptation, democratization and doubtful legality.

It is not the moment to give up. In fact, it is the moment of going to museums, opening that book of theory of colour, practising life drawing, spending nights correcting anatomy with liquifying techniques or using references, not to scrap and sample them, but to learn and to honour the masters. Always a step behind them, and always aspiring to offer something they didn't.

You have a voice in how AI in art has to be used. Don't feel anxious if you don't have all the facts. No one can argue how you feel about it. History tells us that when something doesn't feel right, it is most likely because it is not right, or at least not in the long run.

Myself, I don't own a big company. But I hire artists when I can. And I will always hire an artist when art is needed. if AI is used, will be always with an agreement with the source, including a price or royalty, no shortcuts.

We need artists, it inspires the REAL meaning of progress. AI can't exist without our ART, but ART can definitely exist without AI.

Time to draw.

A final message to those who love to use prompts. We understand you. That punch of endorphins when you see your image coming from the noise... We have been there after long nights of renders, after months of building detailed and intricate illustrations, after hundreds of crashes pulling out a complex 3d shot, or that final note that changes the entire mood of our melodies.
We know it is addictive, and we know it is hard to live without that feeling. Now, don't try to fight me, try to fight for yourself and for a week replace prompts by a pencil, watch some free courses of 2D drawing, animation, rendering, pick your favourite medium! You will see what real progress and power mean. We artists love to share and teach.
We only ask for permission, transparency, respect and yes, justice.
