Macquarie Marshes is located in New South Wales is one the largest remaining inland semi-permanent wetlands in Australia. It is approximately 200,00 hectares, 100 km long and 25 to 30 km wide. It supports threatened bird species including Brogla, Magpie Goose, Freckled Duck, Australian Painted Snipe and important habitat for many migratory bird species and many other species of fish, turtles, frogs, snakes and mammals.
