🇬🇧 Let's explore the tradition of Epiphany in France (Épiphanie en France).
As the festive spirit of Christmas fades into the crisp winter air, France gears up for another beloved celebration: L'Épiphanie.
L'Épiphanie, or Epiphany, is rooted in a Biblical story full of wonder and intrigue.
Celebrated on January 6th, it commemorates the journey of the Magi, also known as the Wise Men or Three Kings, who followed a star to find the newborn Jesus, bringing gifts of gold, frankincense, and myrrh.
The star of this celebration is undoubtedly the 'Galette des Rois' or Kings' Cake.
This delicious pastry, made of puff pastry filled with frangipane, hides a special surprise – a small figurine or 'fève'.
The person who finds the fève in their slice is crowned the king or queen for the day, a playful tradition dating back to Roman times.
