Ankle braces can help you to recover better from ankle sprains, prevent further sprains, and protect an injured ankle during sport, but not everyone will need one. Sports physio Maryke Louw explains who needs to wear an ankle brace, what type of brace is best, and when and for how long to wear it. This video is specifically about lateral (outer) and medial (inner) ankle sprains – high ankle sprains may require different braces.
