The doner kebab is one of the most popular snacks in Germany, but it originates in Turkey. So how did the kebab find its way to Germany and became so successful?

There are differences between Turkish and German kebabs. In Turkey, it’s often served with rice and vegetables on a plate. However, Germans usually like to have their kebab in pita bread stuffed with vegetables and topped with different sauces. Several Turkish immigrants claim to have invented the German version - the “Döner”.
