Hey guys! Today is just a get ready with me where I sit down and chat with you all about just how effing difficult it is to remain calm and regulated when you are dealing with a toddler who is ANYTHING but calm and regulated. Gentle parenting (comes under many different names like RIE parenting, respectful parenting etc) is really just talking to your child with calm confidence and respect and setting strong firm boundaries while validating their big feelings. It sounds simple enough, but when you've set 800 boundaries by 8am it gets REALLY tough not to freak out. Just making this video to say hey - we're doing it, its tough and its a BIG job but basically... solidarity. This is in NO way me complaining about being a mom or parenting, just stating how difficult it can be amidst other life stressors and realizing that he is a PERSON and this is his ENTIRE childhood and not wanting to do anything he will need to recover from
