What can you do to avoid drowsy driving? Here are some tips:

1️⃣ Buddy System: Travel with a co-worker or find a carpool or road trip buddy. Having someone in the car with you can keep you awake and alert. Plus, you can take turns driving if you have a long commute.

2️⃣ Rest: If possible, take a 15-20 minute power nap before hitting the road. But remember, longer naps can make you groggy, so keep it short and sweet.

3️⃣ Caffeine: Grab a cup of coffee, tea, or a soda before your commute. The caffeine takes about 30 minutes to kick in and can help you feel more awake. Double up by drinking caffeine before your power nap to get the best of both worlds.

4️⃣ Call a Cab: If you're feeling extremely exhausted and close to home, don't hesitate to call a cab, an Uber, or a Lyft. Let the professionals do the driving and keep yourself and others safe.

5️⃣ Avoid Alcohol & Heavy Meals: You probably already know this, but it's worth mentioning again. Alcohol and heavy meals can increase your chances of nodding off while driving. So, save the drinks for when you arrive home safely and opt for lighter meals before hitting the road.

Remember, if you're tired, sometimes your symptoms aren't crystal clear. Many drivers who fall asleep at the wheel don't even remember it happening. Scary, right?

That's why it's essential to be proactive and take preventive measures. Slow down, rest, plan ahead, and if all else fails, find another way to get home safely.
