Dr. Raymond Neutra, the youngest son of the legendary architect Richard Neutra, is a renowned medical researcher with impressive credentials. He displayed remarkable intelligence from a young age and even read his father's book "Survival Through Design" while still in high school, inspiring him to pursue a career in medicine and research. Dr. Raymond Neutra ultimately added a doctoral degree in epidemiology to his medical degree and had a long career in environmental public health. He even consulted with his father in the early 1960s when the Neutra Institute was launched.

Today, Dr. Raymond Neutra currently helms the Neutra Institute for Survival Through Design (NISD), which is dedicated to preserving the physical and intellectual legacy of his father, Richard Neutra. Along with utilizing the Neutra legacy to solve modern-day design challenges, the Institute promotes individuals who embody the values that his family was committed to. Dr. Raymond Neutra even shares fond memories of growing up in the Neutra family, including taking his father a glass of milk in the morning while he worked on his drawings or writing.

Listen to Dr. Raymond Neutra as he joins the podcast for a far-reaching discussion, from new innovations at the Institute to in-depth recollections of his famous father and the fascinating people who surrounded him at Neutra VDL Studio and Residences. This innovative live-work space in Los Angeles, now a National Historic Landmark, was designed by Richard Neutra himself back in 1932.
