«We’re going to film how people have been living without electricity for years», we explain to the surprised logger with a chainsaw in his hands where and why we are going along a dirt road among the tall Carpathian pines.
There is no cell phone service, which means that we are on the right way, because we are going to a place where there is no electricity, no communication, no Internet.
Our destination is the Bukovyna village of Falkiv, which is right on the Romanian border. Once it was a lively settlement of forestry workers with several hundred houses, and now such points on the map are called «God-forsaken».
