Ace Bailey is the best scorer in the Class of 2024. He can score at the rim, in transition, in the midrange and at the 3rd level. He has the foundation and fortitude to develop a consistent 4th level shot, although he is not there yet.

Bailey has elite wing athleticism and uses it to rise above opponents for clean looks on his jumpshot. He is a good ball handler who can create his own shot with and without ball screens. Bailey has a high offensive IQ and willingly moves without the ball.

Bailey has innate offensive playmaking ability that allows him to manipulate and read the defense. He does this to create for himself and for his teammates through direct and hockey assists.

Bailey has no regard for his shot selection and shoots the ball whenever he sees fit. The NBA team who drafts him will have to teach him how to play offense with other elite players.

Bailey is a terrible defensive player with a low defensive IQ. He shows no interest in wanting to play defense at a high level and gets consistently beat by players who are significantly less talented than he is. He has the athletic foundation to be a great defensive player, but at this point in his development he doesn’t put in the effort to shut down his defensive assignment nor does he want to be legally physical on the offensive or defensive glass.

Bailey is a heavily offensive minded player. This could be the result of playing for a public high school and an independent AAU team, but any NBA team is going to have to teach him basic defensive principles while simultaneously giving him the offensive freedom to score to maintain his confidence.
