Hi, I'm Paul Becker, a choreographer turned film director. My journey began amidst the hum of the New York Subway, where I found my calling with a pen and notepad in my hands. I've been weaving narratives into films and television from the age of 18, using dance as my unique way of contributing to the cinematic world.

Despite having no formal training in screenwriting, my relentless spirit and determination led me to embark on a new journey in filmmaking. 'My Brother's Story', a personal tale reflecting the relationship I shared with my brother and our single father, became my debut venture. I penned this screenplay during my daily commute, and it was the spark that ignited my dream.

While directing the Pan-American games, I received a call from a producer who had taken an interest in my screenplay. This unexpected turn led me to board a plane to Los Angeles within 24 hours to meet the financier who would greenlight my dream.

Presented with a director's chair, a $5 million film budget, and an ensemble cast led by Academy Award winner Lou Gossett Junior, Vondie Curtis Hall, Madeleine Mantock, Nathan Kress, and Colin Critchley, my film, retitled as 'Breaking Brooklyn', took shape in the bustling heart of NYC and found a home at Lionsgate.

The journey was marked with challenges, but it honed my skills and made me a better director, producer, writer, choreographer, and most importantly, a storyteller. My personal story is a testament to the power of a dream, determination, passion, and taking the first step towards achievement.
