After getting the stock 317 LS cylinder heads cleaned up by our pals over at Total Engine Airflow, they’re ready to go back onto the engine. Once the heads are installed, we finish up the valvetrain assembly and bolt the valve covers back on. Up front, the LS motor gets the timing cover reinstalled, along with the balancer/damper and water pump. Finally, we top-off the entire build with that glorious Holley intake. With the engine build mostly finished at this point, the LS is ready to go into—Blue Oval purists look away here—a sweet 1978 Ford F100 pickup truck.
